South Plaza Sculpture Exhibit
Thursday, May 4th & Friday September 8th

The City of Dillon will open the First Annual South Plaza Sculpture Exhibit on Saturday May 6th during the Celebrate Main Street festival. The public exhibit will run through Sept. 8th. All the sculptures are temporarily on loan through the generosity of each artist. The exhibit curator is Wim Roefs from Columbia, SC.

The city exhibit is sponsored in part by a SC Arts Commission grant, the Dillon County Arts Council, FIRST Bank, Braddy Insurance and the Dillon Downtown Development Association.

The SC Arts Commission grant is funded in part by a gift from the john and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina.
There will be five large outdoor sculptures on the South Plaza:

  • RAPTOR” By William G. Jackson
    Steel & Found Objects
  • HORSE 1 & 2" By William G. Jackson
    Welded Steel & Patina
  • "COPPERHEAD" By William G. Jackson
    Welded Copper, Bronze & Patina

In addition, there will be five indoor sculptures located in: FIRST Bank, Braddy Insurance, The Dillon County Library, The City/County Complex, The Dillon County Chamber of Commerce.
