The Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for a variety of recreational events for its citizens. The Department offers leagues for youth in girl’s softball, youth co-ed basketball, and youth co-ed soccer. The department also works in conjunction with the Dillon Kiwanis Club in its youth baseball program. The department offers services to the senior’s citizens with weekly activities that include bingo, daily trips and special programs. The department offers several special events through out the year that include Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Haunted Forest, and Santa Visits. The staff is responsible for four (4) neighborhood playgrounds:

The Department is responsible for the management of a 100 acre sports complex that has four (4) baseball/softball fields and two (2) soccer fields. This complex has hosted numerous tournaments including Dixie Youth Minors Baseball State Tournament in 2002, Dixie Youth Majors in 2004 and Dixie Softball in 2003 for all age’s groups.
The Department is a member of the South Carolina Recreation and Parks Association and Dixie Softball, Inc.
