The Historic Architectural
Research Committee is a sub committee of the Board of Architectural
Review. Part of the City’s ongoing efforts in preservation
is to continually research and document the city’s architectural
history. The committee has been responsible for the creation
of the Research Library located in the historic “Dillon
House” at 000 West Main St.
The members diligently researched the history of each building
to be considered for the National Register district. The Research
Library contains copies of the Sandborn Maps, a collection of
postcards, many donated books, several “crisscross”
city directories. The Research Library greatly appreciates any
donated research material.
