::PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION::
The Planning &
Zoning Commission holds regular public meetings and hearings
to conduct business and review applications for compliance with
the City of Dillon Zoning and Land Development Regulations in
accordance with the “South Carolina Local Government Comprehensive
Planning Enabling Act of 1994”. The Planning & Zoning
Commission is a city appointed, state recognized board whose
function is to serve as a citizen advisory group to the City
Council on planning, zoning and land development matters; adopt,
recommend, review and update at least the land use element;
review and make recommendations to the City Council concerning
adoption and amendments to the City of Dillon Zoning and Land
Development Regulations; carries out a continuing planning program
for the physical, social, and economic growth of the community
in which is serves and have the responsibility for approving
land development of subdivisions and site plans.

The Planning & Zoning Commission
members must be appointed by the Dillon City Council. When making
appointments, the Dillon City Council must consider professional
expertise, community knowledge and concern for the future welfare
of the total community and its citizens.
