Doug McAbee
is a sculptor who lives and works in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
He holds a BA in Art and an MFA in Sculpture from Winthrop University
where he is an adjunct faculty member.
Doug has
built numerous public art installations and private outdoor
works. His sculpture Sweet Dreams is an installation of five
steel chairs ranging in height from 8 feet to 20 feet. This
work was purchased by Winthrop University in May 2000 and is
permanently displayed on the front campus lawn.

Doug and
his work have been featured in The Rock Hill Herald, The Charlotte
Observer, The Florence Morning News, WYFF Channel 4-Greenville,
The State News-Columbia, Channel 2 News TV-Rock Hill, and Spartanburg
Magazine. Doug has recently completed a new indoor exhibition
called "Happiness is Boring" which is a colorful and
expressive show filled with whimsical imagery. This new work
