
South Plaza Sculpture Exhibit
2006
The
City of Dillon First Annual South Plaza Sculpture
Exhibit was held in 2006. The exhibit began during the Celebrate Main Street
festival in May and ran through Sept. 8th. All
the sculptures are temporarily on loan through the generosity
of each artist. The exhibit curator was Wim Roefs from Columbia,
SC.
The city exhibit was sponsored in part by a SC Arts Commission
grant, the Dillon County Arts Council, FIRST Bank, Braddy Insurance
and the Dillon Downtown Development Association.
The SC Arts Commission grant was funded in part by a gift from
the John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal
Community Foundation of South Carolina.
There were five large outdoor sculptures on the South Plaza:
